remember when
it was cold and cold and cold and we had climbed the roof until we reached the tallest tallest point, our bodies flat against the blue of metal, our fingers twining through each other, our arms pressed against each other, our hearts beating slowly together

remember
the first time our lips met in the darkness of the hallway, the only things i could feel were your moist sweet mouth & soft lips & your hands that were embers burning lines into my skin
remember when
we lay in the hammock together under the full moon and didn’t need to speak because i could feel your heart beating, beating underneath me, and your hands were warm, soft, and running through my hair like a stream of soft silver light that was the fire in my chest
remember when
you rose like the moon and pressed your lips to my forehead slowly, gently, like a breeze just passing through the doorway
remember when
it all made sense and nothing mattered except your arms around me
remember when
you let me wear your pants and then i smelled like you for the rest of the day
remember when
it was 4am, you met me at the streetlight barefoot, we walked on the centre of the streets looking up at the buildings until our feet were black - our toes were red - and you carried me to a park bench so we could fall asleep together as the sun rose
remember when
we stood on the edge of the cliff together looking down at the countryside and watched the cloud shadows moving across the earth below and you told me that i was, i was the sun and you were the moon and we could shine from the top of the world
remember when
it was winter and we were walking together in the woods as the snow fell around us and it was soft underfoot and suddenly when i felt your arm around me all i could see was warmth, and warmth, and warmth, outside around me and inside deep, deep inside my arteries flooding through my veins
remember when
it was one of those summer evenings when the sun was going down and we were both barefoot laying in the grass, looking at the blue clouds that filled the sky and suddenly carried us up, up, up into the treetops until we were floating in the wind with the birds
